Last year my little girl turned one! And I wanted to throw her a party that was bright, happy and very girlie. Her Rainbows & Unicorns Party was exactly that!
We had so much fun planning and preparing for this party.
For the invites and printables I wanted a unicorn that was bright but also stylish, not a fan of the cutesie unicorn images we see a lot of. It also had to stand out and I think the one we come up with worked extremely well. And the rainbow boarder really made it shine. We used the same unicorn image and rainbow boarder for the invites, backdrop, food labels, chocolate wrappers and thank you tags.
For the desert table we wanted the rainbow theme to shine through without having to have an actual rainbow on display, and the rainbow ruffled tablecloth did this perfectly. For the cake I made a rainbow cake, that turned out great, check out my how to make a super easy rainbow cake blog post.
For the drinks station we used our gorgeous lemonade stand, draped with a rainbow coloured pom pom garland adorned with polaroid like photos of Stella from every month of her life so far.
The children’s table was simple yet elegant with white Tiffany chairs with pink cushions and some over sized balloons with rainbow confetti inside that the kids loved knocking about to watch the confetti swirl around inside. We also had a ‘real’ unicorn come and take the children for rides, which was a highlight for many of the young party guests.
My favourite bit was finding things to go in the plastic milk bottles for the party favours. While some of my little tokens didn’t end up arriving in time to make it into the favours, we did end up with unicorn notepads & stickers, rainbow stacking crayons, smarties and few other treats.
Do you have a rainbows & Unicorns Party you have held or been to that you would like to share with us?
