So the school holidays are upon us again and we thought we would offer up some fun things that are happening this school holidays in Perth to get the kids out of the house and enjoying the beautiful sunshine!
Perth Royal Show
Only happening once a year the Perth Royal Show is on from 26th September until 3rd October. Tickets are $15 for over 4 year olds and $29 for adults. Its a great day out for the whole family with rides, showbags, free events and shows happening to keep everyone entertained! Make sure you check out the dinosaur adventure, the biggest attraction at the show this year. It’s interactive theatre never before seen in Perth and it will captivate with amazing animatronics that will bring to life a prehistoric world. http://www.perthroyalshow.com.au/
Awesome Arts Festival for Bright Young Things
The Awesome Arts Festival starts in in the second week of the school holidays (3rd October) and continues until 16th October. Strawberry Picking in Bullsbrook
Want to try something a little different this holidays, why not take the kids to a strawberry farm to pick and eat their own strawberries!!! Ti Farms in Bullsbrook is open every day these school holidays and then every Saturday and Sunday until November/December. It is always best to check their facebook page to ensure there is fruit to pick on the day you want to head up. It’s $10 per picking tray plus $2 including admission for 1. $2 per head for each additional person in the ‘group’. Max ‘group’ size is 5 people. Perth City Playground Pass
The City of Perth is offering free and paid events around the city these school holidays. Go and grab yourself a playground pass and check out some cool activities like paper pilots, I love my museum and the great and wondrous storyteller, as well as some great freebies and special offers exclusively in the city. Each child must display a Perth City Playground Pass wristband to access offers. School Holiday fun at the Barrack Street Jetty as part of the Playground Pass
There are free activities every day from Monday 5th to Friday 9th October at the Barrack Street Jetty thanks to Awesome Arts Fetsival, Perth Zoo, Transperth and MRA. Activities include: Learn the Ukulele, Incredible Zoo Stories, Junior Vet Hospital and Making Origami Boats. Are your kids Lego lovers, then they will love Bricktober happening on 10th & 11th October at Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showgrounds from 9am to 5pm. Bricktober is a yearly event that showcases models built from Lego by fans. Tickets are $8 each and need to be pre purchased, there are no door sales this year. Some activities on the day include: driving a lego train, animated lego films and a ‘brickpit’ of 1000’s of lego to play with. Bricktober is a project of the The Rotary Club of Ascot (Inc) and all fund raised on the day go towards children programs and other rotary projects. Little Big Shots Film Festivals 2015
The Fremantle Arts Centre is hosting Australia’s premier film festival for kids again this year during the school holidays. They will be featuring the best international and Australian kids films, animations and short films outdoors in the inner courtyard. They are on from Tuesday 6th until Thursday 8th October with 4 hourly sessions daily, each tailored to different age groups between 2 to 15 years of age.
